Whether it’s greens for salads, seasonal melons and squashes, vegetables like carrots and radishes, or specific herbs for a more ethnic cuisine, Kathryn will help you determine how best to create your kitchen garden. During an onsite consultation, Kathryn will walk the growing space with you, learn the types of food and herbs you'd like to grow, the aesthetic you want to achieve and your budget parameters. She will evaluate the soil, discuss irrigation options and brainstorm ideas with you on how best to use your space to develop a custom kitchen garden that fits your lifestyle. During this consultation, which usually lasts an hour, Kathryn will provide a variety of ideas, tips and techniques that you can implement on your own.
Based on the information gathered from the onsite consultation, Kathryn will produce a conceptual design for your custom garden. She will provide a description of the envisioned approach, a plant list and an estimate of the garden installation costs.
Kathryn will oversee all aspects of building your new garden.

Maintenance and Harvesting
Native Soil Gardens will teach you how to maintain your garden, including soil health, natural pest and weed control, rotation of planting and succession planting. Kathryn will also teach you how and when to harvest your crops. Native Soil Gardens will assist in training of restaurant kitchen staff for proper harvesting to ensure ongoing crop production.
